Founded in 1991, Mote Management Company is a diversified Southern Maryland real estate management and development company.. Located in La Plata, Maryland, the company owns, develops and manages apartment communities, retail shopping centers, commercial mixed use projects, car washes and mini storage facilities.

From 1991 thru 2001 the Company owned and operated nine McDonald’s Restaurants in Charles County, Maryland and King George, Virginia. After 10 years of successful franchise ownership the restaurants were sold to better focus on the company’s growing development business.

In 1996 Mote Management built the area’s first touchless automatic carwash in Waldorf,MD. Speedy Clean Car Wash now operates four locations in Charles and Prince George’s counties, and continues to reinvest in the latest industry technologies.

In 2001, the company entered the apartment business with the acquisition of a condemned apartment building in the heart of La Plata, MD. After a complete renovation, the apartment community was renamed Heritage Place. Three years later the company purchased land adjacent to Heritage Place and developed a 30 unit apartment project, Heritage Place II. All of the company’s apartment communities are market rent, catering to the young professional.

In 2005, Mote Management Company brought La Plata the towns first climate controlled mini storage facility as a part of a mixed use development, La Plata Commerce Center. The final phase of LPCC is now complete with a 40,000 s/f office building fully occupied by the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center.

Over the past decade, the company has redeveloped several retail shopping centers, bringing national retailers and restaurants to the Southern Maryland real estate market. Mote Management Company is committed to being an engaged and responsible member of the communities in which they operate.
